The school improvement specialists
Safeguarding
audits
Ensuring your school’s children are safe takes top priority and a poor judgement in this area will undermine your whole Ofsted inspection outcome. Our comprehensive on-site safeguarding audit is one of the most efficient ways of assessing how effective your safeguarding practices are and identifying areas for development.
Carried out by one of our safeguarding specialists, our audit provides essential support, advice and guidance, while checking compliance against DfE statutory requirements and the most up-to-date guidance inspectors receive from Ofsted.
How does it work?
- Our on-site visit may be an extended day or split over two days to suit your school’s needs and will include discussions with appropriate staff, leaders and governors.
- We will conduct a comprehensive check of the Single Central Record, policies, curriculum, personnel and training records, safeguarding procedures and practice, and leadership evaluations, comparing them against recommended good or better practice. This will enable an accurate assessment of the effectiveness of safeguarding in your school
- At the end of the day, we will offer detailed verbal feedback on our key findings.
- A written report will then follow within two weeks of our initial visit, which will report key findings including strengths and points for development.
- Both the verbal feedback and the written report will be clear, concise and based on an accurate evaluation of the evidence provided. All feedback will be delivered in a supportive and developmental manner.
- If we identify significant areas for development, we will recommend a re-visit to monitor and evaluate progress made over time.
